After the wedding we headed to Pawley's Island for a day at the beach. We decided Bailey would like the beach; he could have dug a big hole and gotten really sandy. Aubie (a very cute dog with the exception of the name and the Auburn collar) was there, and he played fetch into the ocean. I am not sure how Bailey would have felt about the ocean; we'll have to take him and see.

Poor Bailey
My poor sweet dog had to go to a dawg hotel. It was actually a much better experience than I thought it would be. I thought he would be traumatized, but he has been acting normal - normal for Bailey. The folks at the 4 Paws Pet Resort in Dalton, GA were very nice to him. I think they even washed his bed and his blanky for us.
Rudy and I went to a wedding in Charleston, SC over the weekend. Friday night we went to an after the rehearsal dinner party at the Charleston Yacht Club. It is not often that we go to yacht clubs so we partied it up. Rudy and my friends did top secret boat missions as pictured below, and we danced into the morning. When it was over, Rudy and my father made me walk back to the hotel shoeless for about 15 blocks...not cool

On Saturday we looked around Charleston and bought Bailey a toy at Three Dog Bakery in Charleston because we felt guilty about leaving him. He is enjoying it, and he hasn't destroyed it yet.

The wedding was lovely. It was a small (smile), 500 person wedding at the home of the bride. We had shrimp and grits, crab, pina coladas, and ice cream!!

You can dress them up, but you can't take them anywhere....

Bailey Buncos
I hosted BUNCO at my house last Wednesday, and Bailey was my little helper. While I was chopping up apples and grapes for my chicken salad, Bailey was there to clean everything up off the floor for me. (I'm not the greatest chopper)
Anyway, I had 11 ladies over for drinks, dice, and dinner. We had a great time, and Bailey was very well behaved. We decided that it was lucky if you rub Bailey's head before you roll the dice; he got a lot of head rubs. What a great little dawg.

THE ONLY PICTURE I HAD FROM BUNCO
Aerating and Sprinkling
I'm a little behind on posting, but Bailey and I have been busy. A week ago Friday Bailey learned about aerating the lawn. We rented an aerator with our neighbor and did both our yards. Bailey, Karen, Mocha, and I just watched the men folk hard at work. As Rudy would say "A woman's work is from sun to sun; a man's work is never done." ...ummm...riiight.
Before we began aerating we had to find all the sprinkler heads so we didn't destroy our sprinkler system. We had never run it in Bailey's presence, and HE LOVES IT!! He said what in the world is this thing sticking up in my yard shooting water. He barked and ran around; he tried to bite the water. It was very entertaining. Now every Sunday we run a test on the system just so Bailey can play in it. The only problem is that when the sprinkler heads go back in the ground Bailey tries to dig them up. He just wonders where they went, so I can't really blame him.

***As a side note, we found out later in the evening that Mocha likes Bailey's food. Bailey does nothing to stop her...Mocha is in charge when these two are together. She's the pack leader.

Bailey's Gram came to visit
...and she brought treats! Homemade treats!!! Bailey's cousin's Betsy and Riley loved the treats, and Bailey does too. Every time I go near them in the kitchen Bailey looks at me and wags his tail. (He's like the "Sausages" dog from the Bud Light Commercial - a link to the commercial is on the side bar to the right of this post.) The treats are some combination of hamburger meat, oatmeal, and other goodies. On the next visit he'll get to try the peanut butter flavored treats. Yummy. Bailey is a peanut butter fanatic.
BAILEY IS VERY ATTENTIVE WHEN TREATS ARE INVOLVED

Thanks Momma! We had fun!! Come back to visit soon!!! Bailey loves you even though you are allergic to him :)
