Merry Christmas
Bailey experienced his first Christmas with us this year. I think he enjoyed opening his stocking and his presents. My Momma made him homemade peanut butter flavored dog treats. (Rudy tasted them and said they were delicious...for a dog). We also bought him some Snausages and a big bone. Bailey immediately took his bone off into the woods and buried it. $5 well spent...

The Perfect Toy
Over Thanksgiving Bailey discovered a new toy. He met Bobo the Loofa dog. Bailey could have starred in Petsmart's "The Perfect Toy" commercial as much as he carried that thing around.
Also over Thanksgiving, we watched some football and relaxed. We really didn't leave the couch if we didn't have to. Bailey is a very good snuggler!

Up Close and Personal
While Bailey was suffering at the pet hotel over the weekend, Rudy and I were getting up close and personal with Bailey's favorite dawg: UGA VII.
As you can see from the above picture we lucked into some pretty sweet tickets. I accidentally got a little bit closer to the action when I kicked my camera under the stadium seats (our seats had holes under them like bleachers) and had to go down to the field level and under the stadium to retrieve it. When I was walking under the stadium with the Sheriff, UGA VII was waiting in the wings with Sonny Sieler and the family getting ready to run out on the field. It was really cool.
Moral of the story...if you go to Auburn and get to sit on row 7 or better, kick you belongings under the seats so you can go on a cool journey to get them.
Our trip to Auburn was fun. We learned a great new tailgating trick. We made omelets in Ziploc bags...add eggs and add-ins (cheese, etc.) in the bag and seal with as little air remaining as possible...then throw them into a boiling pot of water for 10-15 minutes.
NO MESS OMELETS

Pumpkin Carving
Bailey helped us carve our pumpkin on Thursday night. Contrary to this picture, he did not want to eat the pumpkin guts.
Because it is Georgia Florida weekend we had to do a Georgia themed pumpkin. We have been psyched up all week, and this was one of the many ways we are showing our support for the Dawgs.

LSU Weekend
Rudy and I went to Louisiana last weekend and we survived (we had doubts). That means that Bailey went to the kennel...sad, but he survived too. I think B had a nice time. He came home with a little pumpkin bandanna.
Anyway, here are a few pictures from our trip to cajun country.

New Videos
I have added two new videos to Bailey's favorites. The first is "Dog Won't Go Out." The second is the "Monkey at Work."

It is October, so that means it is time to buy candy corn. It is irresistible in the grocery store. I was eating some candy corn while watching TV with Bailey the other day, and I thought what would be the harm in giving the little guy a piece. He was looking at me with his sweet brown eyes, and one little piece couldn't hurt. WELL...apparently candy corn is like crack to dogs. He freaks out every time I get near the bag. He jumps up and tries to eat it out of my closed mouth; he tries to pry it out of my hand. I threw the empty bag away, and this morning I discovered that he pulled it out of the trash can. (These are not normal behaviors for B).
Moral of the story - do not feed your dog candy corn...ever.

Fort Payne, Alerbamer
Bailey visited his cousin Daisy in Atlanta this weekend while Rudy and I went to the football game in Athens this weekend. We had a fantastic weekend with the exception of the game. The tailgating was spectacular.
Anyway, Bailey got to visit Fort Payne on the way home this weekend - the home of the band Alabama. I believe it is also the sock capital of the world. Bailey was not impressed.

Angel's Gate
I saw this on Oprah. Bailey thinks it is a nice idea to take care of "special needs" animals.

Bailey is a dog
We went to visit my parents in Dalton this weekend in their new house. The whole family got together, and it was a lovely weekend...until Bailey got a little testy with Copper. We learned that Bailey is in fact a dog and not a person. Shocking, I know. Let's remember the good times from the weekend with the pictures below.

The 1st Annual Cousin Jimmy Pre-Season Tailgate Party (the CJPSTP)
Over the weekend we kicked off football season with a big party. Our buddy's Cousin Jimmy used to throw a pre-season tailgate party just to get everyone pumped up for the season, but unfortunately Cousin Jimmy passed away last year. Rudy and I decided to keep the tradition alive and host the CJPSTP at our house in Alabama. Our Georgia friends came and mingled with our Alabama fan neighbors.

Fishin' in Lake Rudy
We went fishin' in Rudy's parent's backyard lake known as "Lake Rudy." Bailey was fascinated! Every time I caught a fish he would jump at it and try to eat its tail. It would flop around and get B all excited. Bailey also took his first boating trip; when I threw the fish back I thought Bailey was going to jump off the boat, but he decided to stay in.

Bailey successfully made the journey to Atlanta and back this weekend. We celebrated Rudy's momma's brithday, we met some new babies, and we went fishin' (Bailey's favorite by far).
We also visited with some friends at their pool; Bailey visited illegally. The picture below pretty much describes what happened. (Note: This is John's second appearance on Bailey's Blog...and again he has a sword).
Bailey met Gizmo, our neice Corey's dawg, this weekend. They got along fabulously until my hamburger got involved.
